Registering for exams with the StudentsApp
We are always looking for ways to improve our StudentsApp and. We do this, amongst other things, by improving existing features but also by developing new features. One of our newest features is exam registration.
Easy exam registration
Registering for exams is often seen as a tedious, administrative task by students. They do not always think it’s clear for which exams they still have to register and for which they have already registered. If it were up to students, every educational institution would choose bulk registration so that they never have to look at it themselves again.
However, bulk registration is not an option for all educational institutions, meaning that other options to simplify the process have to be explored. By giving students the option to register for exams via the StudentsApp, the process becomes a lot easier for them.
Students see an overview of all the exams for which they can register in the StudentsApp. Registering can be done very simply by pressing the “register” button, and deregistering can be done in the same way. In another tab, they can see all the exams they have already registered for.
Great success at Inholland University of Applied Sciences
Students at Inholland University of Applied Sciences can register for exams through the MyInholland app since the beginning of this academic year. According to Jelgar de Wilde, IT Development Manager at Inholland University of Applied Sciences, the institution added the feature because students had asked for an easier way to register for exams. “Students no longer wanted to register using the current method and indicated that they thought change was needed.” Bulk registration was not an option for Inholland, and they saw the perfect solution in the MyInholland app.
The renewed registration method has been a great success so far. During the first period of the academic year the feature was already used 10.000 times and De Wilde expects this number to increase in the upcoming periods. The attendance percentage for exams has also risen since the introduction of the feature. “We get a lot of positive reactions from students and are also very satisfied ourselves with the change”.
