Manage crowds on campus with the Campus Sign-In feature

In light of the ongoing situation, educational institutions commencing teaching in September are rightly concerned about overcrowding on campus. At StuComm we have developed the Campus Sign-In feature, with which we help educational institutions alleviate concerns about overcrowding.
The Campus Sign-In feature aims to prevent overcrowding on campus. By avoiding crowds and congestion, together we can counter the spread of COVID-19. With the Campus Sign-In feature, you can keep track of the number of students and employees present on the entire campus and at specific locations, from the library to the lecturer halls. Based on the number of people present, action can be taken if necessary to combat crowds.
How does the Campus Sign-In feature work?
As an educational institution, the StuCommApp portal provides a dashboard for the entire campus and for specific locations. As educational institutions, you can manage these yourself, which gives you as an educational institution complete control. A QR code is generated for each location, which is physically hung at the entrance of the campus or space. Students and employees use this QR code to register.
When a person arrives at a certain room, that person has to scan the QR code with the StuCommApp. The student or employee will be shown a red or green screen, indicating whether the maximum number of people is reached. It is up to students and employees to use common sense at that point. When someone leaves the room, he or she is required to check out again, creating room for others.
Enforcement with the Campus Sign-In feature
In some instances, students or employees may not comply with the new system and still enter the campus or space. If there is a suspicion that too many people are present, the StuCommApp is a way to resolve this. Although people register anonymously, this is registered on their phone. It is therefore possible to ask a person to demonstrate that they have registered. If this is not the case, they can be asked to leave the campus or the specific room.
If a student is lingering around campus, you can also ask for the student’s timetable. This shows whether a student has a lesson for which he or she must be present. If this is not the case, you could ask the student to leave the campus.
With the Campus Sign-In feature, you have full control over managing student numbers on campus. Want to know more? Then contact us!
